About Andreas Bjerregaard, MSc
I'm Andreas Bjerregaard, a Danish sports physiotherapist, ACL rehabilitation specialist, and researcher based in Copenhagen, Denmark.Current role & research
I currently work as a Research Assistant at IOC Bispebjerg Hospital in Copenhagen, where I am involved in ACL-Scandinavia, a nationwide research project investigating rehabilitation alone vs reconstruction + rehab following ACL injury.
Alongside my research, I work clinically with athletes and ACL patients, both in person in Copenhagen and online worldwide.
After gaining several years of experience as a physiotherapist within the ACL team at Aspetar and contributing to several articles and book chapters on ACL rehabilitation, my approach is to guide all patients through criteria-based rehabilitation tailored to their individual goals and expectations.
International clinical experience
From 2018 to 2024, I worked at Aspetar Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital in Doha, Qatar, as part of the ACL Rehabilitation Team. During nearly seven years at Aspetar, I gained extensive experience managing ACL injuries across the entire rehabilitation continuum, including preoperative, postoperative, and nonoperative rehabilitation, as well as return to high-level sport.
