About Tijn van der Horst, MSc.

My name is Tijn van der Horst, MSc, manual therapist and physiotherapist. I specialize in ACL rehabilitation and complex sports injuries. In 2018, together with Dr. Patt, I attended a congress at the Mayo Clinic in Minneapolis on rehabilitation and prevention of anterior cruciate ligament injuries, led by Professor Timothy Hewett. Since then, my passion for the complexity of ACL rehabilitation has only grown: it requires more than just recovery.

At Tijn Fysiotherapie, everything revolves around insight: understanding where your symptoms come from, what you can do about them, and how to come back stronger. We help you understand what your knee needs, at what stage, and how to structure your rehabilitation properly. We work closely with several orthopedic surgeons specialized in ACL reconstructions, allowing quick communication and an optimal rehabilitation process.

During ACL reconstruction rehabilitation, we progress from a controlled environment to a chaotic, game-like environment, including on-field training, to address all the demands of your sport. Through specific exercises, we focus on strength, control, reaction speed, dual-task performance, explosiveness, and regaining confidence. My goal is not just for you to recover, but to return stronger than you were before your ACL injury.
